Reading the City is a weekly newsletter listing in-person literary events taking place in New York City. Founded by Tyler Wetherall, it launched in October 2023 as a resource to galvanize the book community and connect readers, writers, and book folk. It’s now visited more than 10,000 times a month and has garnered a following of authors, agents, publishers, and readers.

Tyler also cohosts an annual gathering of the city’s salon curators with Brian Gresko of Pete’s Reading Series, which has helped create new collaborations and connections and brought together fledgling and established events organizers to swap notes and make friends.
